I don't know Justin, I just grabbed this video off mtbr.com while looking at this post. The reason I post the video isn't just because it's an awesome testament to the bike's ability. No, the reason is that I just love the girl who's filming him.
Is she Justin's girlfriend? We don't know. All we know is that Justin and this girl are out riding, and he decides it's time for a "field trip." The field trip is a classic mountain bike moment -- it's an unscripted, uncharted venture into either (a) illegal (b) unmapped (c) dangerous territory. Back in Pittsburgh, my old boss Maurice used to take me on these "field trips" all the time. Sometimes we'd find ourselves in someone's backyard, other times we'd end up on an abandoned (or worse, active) railroad bridge.
The Field Trip, in its essence, is the spirit of mountain biking.
But the girl who's filming is just such a great sport -- she knows what she's getting into, and she's happy in her role of videographer. Or at least we hope. Take another look at the second time Justin hits the drop... the way she says, "so Justin's going to hit it, .... again."
That's the moment of truth. Justin, if you don't already know it, this girl's head over heels for you. Who else would put up with this?
Ah mountain biking... you gotta love it.

I rode with that girl last weekend. She baked pumpkin bread for the crew and she roede 10,000 feet climbing at the Demo Forest of Santa Cruz. She is legend.

That's my girl! And she beat Niki Gudex in the Downieville Downhill last year. She pretty much kicks ass!
