Schalk and Eatough take 1-2 at Rockburn

Jeff Schalk and Chris Eatough scored a great 1-2 at Rockburn Branch Park in Eldridge, MD this past weekend. In Chris's back yard, the course wasn't necessarily a technical one—instead, it was a scorching fast race that put Schalk out in front. The two raced well together as they have since their win at the BC Bike Race back in 2007. In the end, it was Schalk who pulled it together for the win. Way to go Jeff!

This result, of course, has everyone in the world asking what's going on with Trek's domestic program? You'll notice from the photos that Chris is still racing in Trek/VW gear. I'm the first to admit that new clothing has always been the biggest stumbling block in the pre-season, and this year is no exception.

But to answer the question, Chris and Jeff are  stil racing for Trek ( as are XTERRA athletes Brian and Jenny Smith) as part of a new program that's yet to be unveiled. A big thanks to our primary sponsors, JBL, Fox and Shimano, for stepping up to support the program.

Be sure to check this blog for more info as we make it available. An exciting year indeed!

Great to hear these two very talented athletes are still in the game. Trek has always done more than it parts to support racing efforts of riders and evenst a like.
